Islamic Marital Mediation

Online faith-based reconciliation and dispute resolution for Muslim couples

The International Islamic Council of Justice (IICJ) offers Islamic marital mediation — a structured, confidential online process designed to help Muslim couples address serious marital challenges through a faith-based and ethical approach.

Our mediators are qualified Islamic scholars with experience in Shariʿah-based family guidance and dispute resolution. We do not offer legal or clinical services, but provide Islamic reconciliation (ṣulḥ) and structured communication rooted in mercy (raḥmah), fairness (ʿadl), and compassion.

To facilitate respectful and confidential dialogue between spouses

To promote reconciliation and understanding wherever possible

To ensure dignity, justice, and fairness if separation becomes necessary

To support couples in making informed, Islamic decisions about their future

To preserve family harmony and protect the welfare of any children involved

Private Individual Consultations (Online): Each spouse meets separately with an Islamic mediator to express concerns confidentially.

Joint Mediation Sessions (Online): Both spouses attend moderated sessions to discuss key issues, identify solutions, and explore reconciliation options.

Reconciliation or Settlement Plan: The mediator assists the couple in developing a written plan — either for reconciliation or a respectful, faith-based separation.

Follow-Up Support: Optional online sessions are available to review progress or maintain healthy communication.

“If you fear dissension between them, appoint an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people. If they both desire reconciliation, Allah will cause it between them.” (Qur’an 4:35)

“Reconciliation between people is better than fasting, prayer and charity.” (Abū Dāwūd)

The Prophet ﷺ promoted justice, mercy, and fairness in all marital matters.
