Preparing an Islamic Will is not merely a legal formality — it is an act of faith, foresight, and obedience to Allah ﷻ. The Quran and Sunnah establish a precise system of inheritance (al-farā’iḍ) that safeguards justice, harmony, and fairness within families. Neglecting this sacred duty can lead to disputes, hardship, and spiritual accountability.
“It is prescribed for you, when death approaches any of you, if he leaves wealth, that he makes a bequest for parents and near relatives according to what is acceptable — a duty upon the righteous.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:180)
“Give the shares to those who are entitled to them, and whatever remains goes to the closest male relative.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
The Prophet ﷺ strongly emphasised the importance of preparing one’s will while in good health and sound mind.
“It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to bequeath to stay for two nights without having his will written and kept ready with him.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
This ḥadīth highlights the urgency of ensuring that one’s affairs — both religious and financial — are properly arranged and recorded before death. Writing an Islamic will is therefore not only prudent, but a prophetic instruction.
If a Muslim passes away in the United Kingdom without an Islamic Will, their estate will be distributed according to English intestacy law, not Shari‘ah.
This often leads to results that contradict Islamic principles:
Under English law, children inherit equally regardless of gender, whereas Islam assigns specific shares to each heir in accordance with divine wisdom.
– Parents and relatives may receive no share at all.
– The court may appoint non-Muslim executors or guardians.
– Wealth may be distributed in ways not sanctioned by Islam.
 A valid Islamic Will ensures:
– Compliance with both English law and Shari‘ah.
– Protection of your family’s rights and harmony.
– Recognition of your religious and ethical values under British law.
– Drafted and overseen by a qualified British Mufti.
– Authentic Islamic guidance aligned with UK legal standards.
– Trusted for accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
– Compassionate, precise, and faith-driven approach.
– Helping families across the UK to fulfil their duty to Allah ﷻ.
Do not leave your estate to secular law or uncertainty. Ensure your wealth is distributed as Allah commands — with justice, wisdom, and foresight.
Our expert Muftis and Islamic Judges will prepare Islamic Wills for you which will be legally binding in the UK.
The Messenger of Allah (Peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to will to stay for two nights without having his last will and testament written and kept ready with him.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari).
